I need to know how to make a link soon.Until I learn how to do that, this blog is going to be peppered with websites from which I get the articles of my finds.Steps how to make life a little simpler at home:
1. Make both time and space for you
Lucky me, I have a lot of time.I have been a stay at home mum for 3 months now.For how long? Only God knows.
Making a space is a bit burdensome. We live in a big flat. We've got a spare bedroom. But, my son either tags me along wherever he goes or he follows me around.
We'll be moving to a smaller flat next month.I hope that I can find a space for me there.Speaking of moving, we've been busy furniture hunting.I wish we're moving to our own flat.I know that God has a perfect time and a perfect place for that. For now, I should be happy and contented with a nice and bright rented flat. It's on the first floor with no lift. The landlord is also very nice, we're suppose to move on the 15th of this month but he said that it will be alright for us to start on the 1st of July in the contract. He agreed for us to have the keys from the 15th though. That would be nice, because we can start moving our things little by little. My husband can carry stuff everyday when he goes to the office because the flat is just a stone-throw away from where he works.God is really good.
2. End the piles of paper
This is a bit challenging for me as I am a very sentimental person.I kept all the letters my family sent me when I started to work abroad almost ten years ago.You see, we did not have a telephone then, not even a mobile.Internet is also not accessibe for my family during that time.I can't imagine how I managed to shred all those papers when we moved out of the UK.I brought some of them here.LOL.
3.Control your clutter
Another baffling task for me.Again, because of my sentimental side. After all those house moves in the UK, I should be an expert in decluttering now.I need to apply one thing that the pastor said last Sunday. He said, "There are a lot of sale nowadays, but before you buy something, you need to think if you really need it."Very true, I need to apply it even with groceries.I need to make a grocery list from now on and stick to the list.If I see a promotion, I can't help but be tempted to buy it even if I don't need it.
Because we're moving again, I bet I'll be throwing a lot of stuff again. And I hope that we won't be having a lot of clutter in our new flat. Two things, the flat is not that big and it does not have a lot of storage.
4.Grow a garden
I used to love gardening. That is until a hen stepped into my head out of vengeance, because I threw some stones to it when it uprooted all my sweet potatoes.I know, it was horrible to do such thing to an animal. But I was so angry then.
On our last move to a flat in the UK, I bought some plants which I have to give away because of our move abroad.I hope that I will be able to buy some here.I also hope that my son will love them and will not cut the leaves or uproot them.
